Helen L. Cosand, 93, Kokomo, died 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003,
at Waterford Place Health Campus. She was born July 2, 1910, in Shelby County,
the daughter of Ernest and Grace (Bass) Bassett. On July 19, 1929, in Kokomo,
she married Robert L. Cosand and he preceded her in death Dec. 14, 198
She was a homemaker. She had worked at Reliance Manufacturing, Kresge
Department Store and Mary Mac Candy Store.
She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she was
also in Thy Joy Club. Her other memberships included the YWCA Grandmother's
Club, Order of Eastern Star No. 89 Kokomo and The Bible Study Group at Alto
Road Church of Christ.
Survivors include grandchildren, Vivian and Stephen Ramer, Christopher
Jackson, all of Kokomo, and Jodi and Robert Bomely, Knoxville, Tenn.; great-
grandchildren, Dustin Ramer, Joshua and Tracy Ramer, all of Kokomo, Sara
Jackson, Norfolk, Va., August and Luke Askins, Manardville, Tenn., and Jacob
Bomely, Knoxville, Tenn.; great-great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Alise and Lydia
Ramer, all of Kokomo; and a brother-in-law, Robert Cooley, Kokomo. In addition
to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter,
Betty Jackson.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel,
3400 S. Webster St., with the Rev. Harold Williams officiating. Burial will be
in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
