Arvel Bass
Arvel A. Bass, 92, of 1708-B Haven Dr., died at 11:30 a.m. yesterday at Holiday Home.
He was formerly a barber, then became part owner of Blue Ribbon Dairy and Standard Dairy, and served as president of the Evansville Dairy Council for one year.
He later returned to barbering, and owned a shop at Keck and Hercules Avenues until the age of 80.
He was a life member of the Eagles, and a member of the Olivet Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte; a son, Louis R. of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Willard of Huntingburg; a grandson, John Louis Bass of San Antonio; two stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Olivet Presbyterian Church, with entombment if Oak Hill Mausoleum.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. tomorrow at Kriekhaus-Sansom Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
The family said friends, if they wish, make make memorial contributions to the Young People?s Department of Olivet Presbyterian Church.
