Services for Mrs. Nellie May Sparks, 62, Hilltop village, who died
Friday afternoon at W.S. Major Hospital shortly after admission, will be at
2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Murphy Mortuary. The Rev. Don Rissler will officiate.
Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 pm today. A daughter of Edward and Lettie
(Baker) Bassett, Mrs. Sparks was born May 14, 1920, in Shelby County. She was
married in 1945 in Batesville to Jesse L. Sparks, who preceded her in death
Oct. 29, 1981.
Surviving is a son, Jimmie Sparks, Lisbon Falls, Maine; two
grandchildren; Sisters, Mrs. Walter (Ruby) Tucker, Belleflower, Calif.; Mrs.
Joseph (Ruth) Lanwerlen, Mrs. Lucy Saunders, Mrs. Dale (Pat) Bastin, Mr
Wayne (Marilyn) Wilson, all of Shelbyville; Mrs. James (Betty) Taggart,
Waldron, and Mrs. Charles Henderson, Hope, and a Brother, Jack Bassett,
Shelbyville. A brother, sister and son preceded her in death.
