Bass, 84, of 531 Barton Ave., who retired five years ago as a buyer in the men?s department at Miller Bros. Co. after 54 years of service, died this morning in a local hospital. His funeral will be conducted in the chapel of the Wann Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Sunday by Dr. Luther Joe Thompson, and burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. Mr. Bass, a native of Decherd, Tenn., was the son of the late John Henry and Margaret Elizabeth Darwin Bass. His wife is the former Margaret Jameson. They have a son, W.H. Bass Jr., and two grandchildren here. Another of the elder Mr. Bass? survivors is a brother, Edd L. Bass, Decherd. Mr. Bass was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Albert Bible Class for 34 years.
