Wedding
Powlesland ? Bassett
A very pretty wedding took place at St. James? Church of England, Dandenong, on June 3, when the marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. Francis Morton, the contracting parties being Miss Lily Powlesland and Mr. G. Bassett. Mr. H. Whitford, a friend of the bridegroom, presided at the organ. The bride (who was given away by her brother, Mr. W. Powlesland), was prettily frocked in ivory tuille, and looked charming, with a tuille veil, which was lent by Mrs. C. Dart. The bride, who was attended by Miss Betty Knights as bridesmaid, and Miss Betty Powlesland (niece of the bride), as flower girl, were both robed in rose pink taffeta, and each carried a choice posy of flowers. The bride?s bouquet was of pale flowers and orchids. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. B. Powelsland, as best man.
After the ceremony the party adjourned to the Parish Hall, where the guests attended the happy wedding breakfast.
Mr. and Mrs. Bassett spent their honeymoon touring the Grampians.
