Bassett-Lupo
Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Lupo of P.O. 2, Mechanicville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Rose M. Lupo, to Allen H. Bassett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bassett of Easton. The wedding will take place in St. Peter’s rectory, Stillwater, on April 13.

Allen H. Bassett
MECHANICVILLE – Allen H. Bassett, 43, RD 1, Schaghticoke, Town of Easton, died early Sunday morning at his residence following a short illness. He was born May 11, 1926 in Troy.
He was husband of Rose Luop Bassett, son of the late Lewis G. Bassett and the late Katherine Buckley Bassett. He had been a resident of the Town of Easton for the past 15 years. Mr. Bassett taught in the Hoosick Valley School.
He was a former resident of Mechanicville, was graduated from the Mechanicville High School, and received his BA degree at SUNY at Albany. He was an active member of the Memorial Baptist Church and a member of the choir of that church. He was a past superintendent of the church Sunday School and a former church deacon. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father, Lewis G. Bassett of Easton; two sons, Stamford A. and Lewis R. Bassett, both of Easton, a daughter, Mrs. John E. Mohan, Albany; a brother, Richard C. Bassett of Oakfield.
Memorial service will be held Saturday at 3 at the Memorial Baptist Church, Mechanicville, with the Rev. Jordan A. Holt, pastor, officiating. There are no viewing hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Dunn Funeral Home, Mechanicville.
