William ?Bill Bassett, March 28, 2018
Bill Bassett of Rockaway Beach died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home Chapel.
William Ernest Bassett was born in Bronxville, NY to. Ernest William and Madeline (Fenton) Bassett. Bill was raised and schooled in NY and CT. After high school he served in the U.S. Army for three years. Following the service, he became a manager and driver for professional Country and Western music stars like Johnny Paycheck and others. He then drove a tour bus. He lived in New York, Connecticut, and Florida and moved to Rockaway Beach in 2003. He was married to Donna Nolin in 2006. Following Donna's retirement as the director for the Forsyth Area Chamber of Commerce, Bill took over that position and served in that position until he retired in 2018.
Bill loved Country Music, Classic Cars, the beach, eating out in nice restaurants and spending time with his daughter, April. He was a friend to all and was an excellent listener. He was a little goofy at times, fun loving but very compassionate. He was the best father ever. Bill was a member of the Forsyth Area Chamber of Commerce and attended the Forsyth Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of Rockaway Beach; a son, Christopher Frommeyer and wife, Rebecca of Winter Garden, FL; three daughters, April Bassett of Rockaway Beach, Jodi Beets and husband, Adam of Ozark, Anne DeCamillo of Ozark; five grandchildren, Arianna Rodriguez, Ely Soto, Sophia Soto, Aiden Beets and Allie Beets.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
