Carolynne Bernice (Bassett) Lee (1930 – 2010) (Picture included)
After a brief illness, Carolynne Bernice (Bassett) Lee passed away on June 3,
2010 in Redding, California. Carolynne was born November 4, 1930 in Cassel,
the youngest of 8 children, to Roy Wilson Bassett and Florence Martha (Kenyon)
Bassett, a pioneer family from Big Valley.
After graduation from Fall River Mills High School, Carolynne married James
Burdette (Bud) Lee in 1949 and they spent 46 happy years together until Bud's
passing in 1995. Carolynne worked for Bank of America for 17 years in Fall
River Mills, Weaverville, Anderson, and Redding, making many friends along the
way. Carolynne loved her large and extended family dearly; she enjoyed
entertaining and traveling. Carolynne will be greatly missed, and long
remembered.
Carolynne was actively involved in Eastern Star (50 years), the Philanthropic
Educational Organization (PEO), Republican Women, and was a long-time
elections volunteer.
Carolynne was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by sister Floy Brewster (James) of Dana, daughter Linda Collin
(Paul) of Chico, son Greg Lee (Paula) of Redding, four grandchildren, t
great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel on June 10th at
11:00 a.m.
Graveside services will be on June 11th at 1:00 p.m. at the Fall River
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Philanthropic Educational
Organization (PEO) or the charity of your choice.
