  Notes	Ray was an attorney in Salem, Oregon from 1922 until his death. He was buried with military honors at Salt Creek Cemetery on 14 Jan 1960. He enlisted in the U.S. Field Artillery on 1 May 1917, and was sent overseas where he served twenty-two months of the Fifth Field Artillery of the First Division. He took part in five major engagements, those at Cantigny, Montdidier-Noyon, St. Mihiel and twice in the Meuse-Argonne offensive. Ray died of a massive heart attack at his farm near Hubbard, Oregon, while clearing an irrigation ditch. He loved to farm and always had a flower garden.
