GREENSBORO REBECCA SHORT BECKY BASS, 94, OF Greensboro, died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at her residence.Funeral will be 2 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Rehobeth United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park.Becky was born January 1, 1921 in Guilford County to the late Walter and Freida Short. She was a longtime member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Stokes Circle. She retired from Duke Power Company with thirty-four years of service in administration. Along with her parents, Becky is preceded in death by her brother, Walter D. Short and sister, Elizabeth S. Goolsby.Becky is survived by her husband, Owen M. Bass; son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Linda Bass; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mike Shepherd; sisters, Martha Waycaster, Emma Turner, and Frances Brendle (David); grandchildren, David Frederick Owen Bass (Tiffany), Daniel Lee Bass (Mikel), Jonathan Charles Bass (Margo), Jason Michael Shepherd (Heather), and Kelley Shepherd Triplett (Benjamin); great grandchildren, Mikah, Josiah, Aleyna, Lexi, Kenna, Madison, Ashlyn, Audrey, Salem, Charlie, Lucy, Henry, Kate, and Nathan.The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the church parlor prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to the Rehobeth United Methodist Church Family Life Center Fund, 4475 Rehobeth Church Rd, Greensboro, NC 27406 or to the charity of one's choice. George Brothers Funeral Service is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
