- Mabel Fuller Bassett Obituary
Mabel Fuller Bassett was born March 17, 1892, in Lawrence, Utah. She was the youngest daughter born of the marriage of Mary Madsen Fuller to Homas Eldridge Fuller. Both parents died when she was 4 years old.
Mabel lived with her grandmother, an aunt, and other relatives and friends in Utah until she was 13 years of age. At that age, in the year of 1905, she was sent to the pioneer state of Wyoming to begin residence with her sister Mrs. Alexander Nephi Roberston, on a homestead in Jackson Hole. She traveled from the terminal of the Union Pacific railroad at Rexburg, Idaho, over Teton Pass, and into Jackson Hole by wagon.
Mabel married John Craven Rutherford in 1908 at the age of fifteen. To this union were born two children, Margaret Olive, and Arthur Jay. Mabel and john were divorced in 1916.
Mabel married Grover Cleveland (Slim) Bassett in 1920. One child, Grover, Jr., was born of this marriage.
Mabel is survived by her husband, Slim, three children, Margaret, Arthur and Grover; one sister, Mrs. Roy Schilling; seven grandchildren and give great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and by one great grandchild, Robert Elliot Bell, in 1963.
