William D. Bassett
William D. Bassett, 25, of Carney Road, Waterville, RD1, died Thursday, May 7, in Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital Center, Syracuse, where he was being treated for injuries suffered in a car-van accident Wednesday morning near Augusta.
Mr. Bassett was driver of a car that was in collision with a van driven by Howard S. Isabell, 72, of Eaton. Mr. Isabell also was killed. Two passengers in the van, James P. Williams, 65, of Oneida, and Russell H. Kraft, 85, of Maple Park Home, Vernon Center, were taken to Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse.
Mr. Bassett was the son of Clinton and Bernice Bassett of Rogers Road, Madison. He attended Madison Central School. He was a self-employed livestock breeder.
Mr. Bassett married Susan Sauerhafer of Cassville, Mrs. Bassett's father, Earl Sauerhafer Jr., died less than a week previously.
Besides his wife and parents, he leaves a son.
The funeral was Saturday from the James W. Davis Funeral Home, Madison.
