Mary M. Bassett
DELTA - Mary Bishop McMurdie Bassett, age 90, died June 24, 1995, in
Bountiful, Utah. Born February 22, 1905 in Paradise, Utah, to Samuel Kay and
Harriet Louisa Bishop McMurdie. Married William Smith Bassett on December 12,
1931, in Fillmore. Marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died
June 3, 1988. She graduated from Brigham Young College, Logan, in 1926.
Received her education degree from USU in 1958. Taught school in Deseret in
1926. Continued teaching in Delta in 1927. Active member of the LDS Church.
Member DUP. Charter member of Lyric Lore. Survived by sons and daughter: W.
Lynn, and Mrs. LeRoy (Elouise) Larson, both of Bountiful; Kay M., Spani
Fork; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services Wednesday,
June 28, 1995, 11 a.m., Delta 3rd Ward. Friends may call at Nickle Mortuary,
190 South Center, Delta, on Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church,
10-10:45 a.m. Burial, Delta Cemetery.
