BASSETT, ROY B.
Roy B. Bassett, 89, Westmoreland, died Sunday, August 1, 1999 at the
Westmoreland Community Care Home.
Mr. Bassett was born January 25, 1910, in Stockton, Kansas, the son of George
H. and Florence Kelly Bassett. He attended Laclede School and spent his life
farming until his retirement. After retiring, Mr. Bassett lived in Washington,
Missouri and Onaga, before moving to Westmoreland. He was a member of t
Laclede Baptist Church.
Mr. Bassett was preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include a nephew, George R. Bassett of Tyler, Texas; and two
sisters-in-law, Lorena Bassett of Wamego and Winifred Bassett of Onag
Visitation with family and friends was held Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30
p.m.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday (today), at the Stewart Funeral
Home in Wamego. Burial will follow in the Laclede Cemetery.
