- In Memory of Gloria S. Bassett
October 27, 1935 – May 16, 2012
Mrs. Gloria S. Bassett, 76, of Alpharetta, passed away on May 16, 2012 after a lengthy battle with MRSA and its complications. As a career Admin. Asst. for many years serving Emory University R&D and First Union Mortgage, she was a dedicated caregiver for family and friends, an active volunteer in the church and community, and a mother figure to many. She was a church pianist and vocalist, FOP ladies auxiliary leader, Sunday school teacher, volunteer coordinator and a cake maker. Her fighting spirit, unending faith and unwavering sense of humor were noted and admired. She is preceded by her husband, Aubrie L. Bassett, in May 2000 and son, Robley in May, 1999. She is survived by her loving children - Carol (Mike) Greene, Jim (Gail) Bassett, Crickett (Wendy Rod) Vandeventer and Anne Bassett; 6 grandchildren - Michelle, Michael, Karen, Sara, Rachel and Zachary; many great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 am til 12 noon; the funeral will be held at 12 noon, Tues., May 22, 2012 at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA 30076. She will be placed to rest at Westview Cemetery following the service.
