Bernice G. Bassett
Augusta - Bernice G. Bassett, 75, died Thursday, December 6, 2001, at the Emergency Room, Hamilton Hospital. She was born November 26, 1926, in Madison, the daughter of Joseph and Sadie McPherson Tallman. In 1947 she and Clinton J. Bassett were united in marriage. He died in 1997. Survivors include her children, Stanley Bassett, Clinton Bassett, Robert Bassett, Howard Bassett and Thomas Bassett; also Linda Bikowsky, Tina Eisenhut, Tammy Jaseck, Cynthia Kerr, Lorrie Massey, and Sandra Sonia; 29 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Monica Owens, Esther Frost, Virginia Misiaszek, and Johanne Jipson; and her brothers, Donald Tallman, James Tallman, and Robert Tallman. Bernice was predeceased by her son, William; brothers, Joseph and Lyle Tallman; and her sister Helen Vivyans; and three grandsons. A Committal Service was conducted on Saturday, December 8, 2001, at the James W. Davis Jr. Funeral Home, Madison.

Benjamin J. Massey
Benjamin J. (BJ) Massey, 14, of Rogers Road, Oriskany Falls, died Friday, April 2, 1999, at the Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton, following a brief illness.
He was born on August 29, 1984 in Hamilton, the son of Eugene and Lorrie Bassett Massey.
Besides his parents, BJ leaves a sister, Amanda Jean of Oriskany Falls; his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Anna Mae Massey of Bridgewater; his maternal grandmother, Bernice Bassett of Oriskany Falls; his great-grandparents, Owen and Esther Hughes of Holland Patent and George and Myrtle Massey of Watertown; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Clinton Bassett.
His funeral was held Tuesday, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Madison with the Rev. Lyman Pelkey, pastor officiating. BJ's Interment will be held on Saturday, April 10, at 10 a.m. at the Madison Valley Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Paul Funeral Home, 3592 South Street, Madison.
In memory of BJ, donations may be made to the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Fund and Oriskany Falls Volunteer Ambulance Fund.
