Patricia "Pat" Audrey Blunt Bassett
Patrica "Pat" Audrey Blunt Bassett, 68, of Cloquet died Thursday, Sept. 7,
2000, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. She was born March 16, 1932, in
Duluth to Page and Lillian (Rustad) Collver. She grew up in Alborn and
graduated from Alborn High School in 1950. She moved to St. Paul where she was
a dance instructor at Arthur Murray's Dance Studio. She married Roy Blunt in
1952 and in 1955 they moved to Esko. Pat was a beautician during the 1960s. In
1965, she moved to Independence where she owned and operated the Korner Koffee
Kup restaurant in Saginaw until 1975. She married Everett Bassett Nov. 23,
1974, in Scanlon. Pat worked at Big Bucks Bingo during the 1980s. On Jan. 31,
1993, Pat received a lung transplant. She was a member of the Hebert Kennedy
VFW Pot 3979 Auxiliary, Pike Lake Eastern Star, Cloquet Women of the Moose and
a past president of the Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, fishin
camping, traveling and playing cards and bingo. She was preceded in death by
her first husband Roy Blunt; and a sister, Irene Robbins. She is survived by
her husband, Everett Bassett; sons Michael (Lynn) Blunt of Fountain Hills,
Ariz., Patrick (Sandy) Blunt of Aitkin and Keith (Karen) Blunt of Dulut
daughters, Krystal (James) Fields of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Dee McLain of
Superior; a stepson, James (Linda) Bassett of Cloquet; stepdaughters Jeanne
Polo of Cloquet and LeeAnn (Morris) Nicholson of Cottage Grove, Minn.; a
brother, Page (Rhoda) Collver Jr., of Culver; a sister, Shirely Collver of St.
Paul; 11 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;
eight step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Family will
receive friends: 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service Monday in Northland
Funeral Home Chapel, 801 14th St., Cloquet. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made in memory of Patricia Bassett to Second Chance for
Life, c/o Cal Stoll, 4511 Westwood Lane, Golden Valley, MN 55416. Arrangements
