Carson Franklin Bass
YANCEYVILLE - Carson Franklin "Frank" Bass, 69, of 327 Bo Carter Road, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Halifax County, VA on June 25, 1941 to Henry David Bass Sr. and Mary Katherine Mise Bass. He was educated in Halifax and Alamance county schools, loved his bluegrass music and played in the Green House River Band. He worked as a carpenter and was of the Methodist faith.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Harrelson Funeral Service Chapel, conducted by Rev. Mark Cobb. Interment will be in Yanceyville United Methodist Church cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Elevene Wilson Bass of the home; son, Keith Bass of the home; sisters, Nell Lineberry of Liberty, Patricia "Till" Lashley of Climax, and Catherine Barber of Mebane; two brothers, Henry D. "Scott" Bass Jr. of Liberty, and Lawrence Bass of Halifax, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Sam Bass and James Bass and sister, Mary Elizabeth Bass.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 23, 2011 from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Harrelson Funeral Service, and at other times at the residence.
Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
