- Josephine Maslowski Bassett
Josephine Bassett, age 76, of Citrus Heights, California for the past 18
years, formerly of Cloquet, passed away at her home in California with her
family by her side on August 18, 2006 after a courageous battle with lu
cancer.
Josephine was born to Adolph and Regina (Kaae) Maslowski in Cloquet, MN on
November 19, 1929.
In her retirement she had a passion for cooking and crocheting. She sold her
afghans and generously gave many away to her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Regina and Medric
Beaupre, her father Adolf Maslowski; her sister, Violet Parks; her brother,
Victor Maslowski; and her son, Robert E. Lee.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Bassett of California, and her
children, Thomas E. Lee of Cloquet; Lana (Bob) Spitzenberger of Wyoming; Linda
(Tom) DeCaigny of Cloquet; Brenda (Bill) Edwards of California; and her
youngest son, Jody Lee of Louisiana, and her step-children Brian (Cindy)
Bassett and Janell Bassett, both of Minneapolis. She has 7 grandchildren and 1
great grandchild. She is also survived by her brothers Eddie (Louise)
Maslowski of Mississippi, and Chet Maslowski of Minneapolis, and her sister
Mary (Gerald) Hovis of Cloquet, her niece and good friend, Cheryl Patock of
Cloquet, who phoned her often and kept her spirits up and several other
nieces, nephews and friends.
Her family invites you to attend her graveside ceremony at Maple Grove
Cemetery in Cloquet on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Following the
ceremony we will meet at Linda and Tom DeCaigny's at 1602 Carlton Avenue for a
celebration of Josie's life.
