Wendell F. Moore
Wendell F. Moore, 79, of Center Conway died Jan. 24, 2017, at the Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee. Born in New Haven, Conn., the son of Walter and Berenice (Nettleton) Moore, he grew up in Clinton, Conn., and had lived in Harrison and Fryeburg, Maine, prior to moving to Center Conway in 2008. He graduated from Morgan High School in Clinton, Conn., and Quinnipiac College, Class of 1968 with a bachelor's in administration and marketing in Hamden, Conn. He was a Army veteran serving as a heavy equipment operator for four years worked as a heavy equipment operator with several construction companies including Lane Corporation, McWin Incorporated, Burnham Brothers and Searles Excavation. Mr. Moore was a member of Crooked River Lodge Free & Accepted Masons in Harrison, Maine, and he had also served as a selectman for the Town of Harrison. Wendell enjoyed carpentry, auto repair and maintenance, boating and shooting. Wendell leaves behind his companion, Barbara Smith of North Conway; two sons, William Moore of Suncook and Stephen Moore of Bridgton, Maine; five grandchildren, Ryan Moore, Kathleen Moore, Suzie Moore, Kimberly Moore and Heather Moore; and a great-grandchild, Scarlett Geer. He was predeceased by his wife of 11 years, Maxine Ann Moore, in 2007. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. at Christ Church Episcopal in North Conway with Rev. Richard Belshaw, rector, officiating.
