Bassett, 59, of 2517 Balden st., a well known commercial artist and owner of Bassett Art Service, 2702 Monroe st., died today at his home. Born in Chicago in 1905, he had been a Madison resident since 1946, coming here from Royal Oak, Mich. He was married Aug. 31, 1926, to Ruth Anderson of Marshalltown, Iowa. Mr. Bassett attended the Chicago Art Institute. He was a member and vestryman at St. Andrew?s Episcopal Church here. Surviving are his wife; one son, Henry, Oregon, Wis., one sisters, Mrs. George Rocque, Lombard, Ill., one brother, Sterling Bassett, Park Ridge, Ill., and three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were to be made at the Frautschi funeral home, 3619 Speedway rd. here. Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona, Dane Co., Wi.
