Gerald Bassett, 84 (Picture included)
Gerald Bassett, 84, of Viola, died Sunday, January 28, 2019.
Gerald was born on March 27, 1933 to Clarence and Alice (Hill) Bassett in Minocqua, WI. He graduated from Minocqua High School. Gerald enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 18 1952 and served during the Korean conflict as a member of the security service as a translator. He was honorably discharged on June 17 1956. On February 19 1954 he was united in marriage to Donna Behn and they had 4 children together. Gerald was very active in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He loved to watch Packer games.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Donna; four children: Debra Bassett, Mark (Gloria) Bassett, Tina (Eric) Blount, and Becky (Ron) Anderson; ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; four siblings: Alice, William, Edna, and Martha; and other nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Jesse George, Robert, Lester, and Winifred; and two granddaughters: Rebekah LeeAnn, and Amanda Lee.
Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Pastor Yvonne Marshall will officiate with a luncheon following the service. Friends may call at the church from 11am till the time of service at 1.
In lieu of plants or flowers, memorial may be given to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
