Bassett 50th
MISHAWAKA ? Mr. and Mrs. George H. bassett of 58780 Elm Road observed their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 8 with a family celebration. Mr. bassett and Lucile Lund were married Feb. 11, 1942, in Pasadena, Calif.
They have two children and three grandchildren. Their children are George E. of South Bend and Barbara Hennard of Cincinnati.
Mr. Bassett retired as owner of Mishawaka Sales and Service. Mrs. Bassett retired from Watkins Products where she worked in sales. They have lived in Mishawaka for 44 years.

MISHAWAKA ? Lucile M. Bassett, 91, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 4:26 p.m. June 6, 2011, in Miller?s Merry Manor in Wakarusa, IN.
Lucile was born on November 25, 1919, in Ashland, WI, to Edwin and Laura (Friske) Lund. On February 11, 1942, in Pasadena, CA, Lucile married George H. Bassett. George preceded Lucile in death on January 19, 1994.
Lucile is survived by her children, George E. (Nancy) Bassett of South Bend, IN, Barbara L. (Bill) Hennard of Cleina, OH; three grandchildren, Angela (Matt) Fraling, Andrew (Kim) Bassett and Laura Hennard; four great-grandchildren; her siblings, Luella Horn of Jackson MI, and Harold Lund of Rochester, NY. Also surviving are Michiko Komatsuzaki of Japan, a foreign exchange student who Lucile sponsored.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Lund from Rockville, Indiana.
Lucile worked as a sale rep for Watkins Company, and was a member of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church of Woodland, IN. Lucile enjoyed square dancing. Lucile was a veteran of the U.S. Army, being honorably discharged in 1945.
Family and friends may call today from 4.00 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, and from one hour prior to funeral services on Friday at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Josh Osbun officiating the services. Burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN. American Legion Post #308 will conduct miliary rites.
