Louise Elvira Bassett Ingram Louise Ingram (née Bassett) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the Jersey City Medical Center on August 5, 2020. She was 80. Born in Charles City, VA to the late George and Louise Bassett, Louise attended Ruthville High School and graduated from Snyder High School in 1959 after moving to Jersey City. She worked as a secretary for William Grant & Sons in Edison for over 40 years before retiring. Louise was a devout member of St. John's Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She often enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, loved to shop and had an affinity for music. Louise also enjoyed spending time with her family. Louise is the beloved sister of Bettie Roundtree, Irene Thomas and Charles Roy Bassett and the late Burrell Bassett, Marie Lewis, Elizabeth Brooks, Eunice Bassett, George Warren Bassett and Ann Jones. Loving aunt to a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Dear sister-in-law of Ella, Darlene and Ernestine Bassett. Visitation will be at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Ave., Jersey City on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 4-8 PM. Due to CDC Guidelines, visitors are kindly asked to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. The Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Orange.
