- Peter Frank Bass Obituary
Peter Frank Bass, 85, of 11 Lebanon Avenue, died at the State Convalescent Home Tuesday after a long illness.
He was born in Berczany, Galicia, Austria, and came to this country in 1900. For a number of years he lived in Jersey City, New Jersey, and was a resident of Colchester for 55 years. Until he retired 25 years ago Mr. Bass was employed at Pratt Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, in the maintenance department.
He was a member of St. Andrew’s Church and the Holy Name Society of the church.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Josephine Dwojak Bass; two sons, Joseph P. Bass of Yonkers, New York, and John E. Bass of Colchester; three daughters, Mrs. Leonard Juknis of New London, Mrs. Samuel Wozniak of Colchester, and Mrs. Joseph Mickolojcik of Groton; two brothers, George Bass of Elizabeth, New Jersey and Joseph Bass of Chicago, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. Mary Michalczyn in Austria; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, at the Belmont Funeral Home, 19 South Main Street, and at St. Andrew’s Church, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the New St. Andrew’s Cemetery, New Cemetery Road. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
