Jean Ginter Bassett (Picture Included)
Jean Ginter Bassett, artist, born on May 12, 1923 in Lakewood, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2009, in El Paso, Texas. She was 86 years young. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. An avid artist all of her life, Jean was a graduate of Jokake School in Scotdale, Arizona. She attended the Art Institute of Chicago as well as Northwestern University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, and her parents, Howard and Mabel Ginter. Jean is survived by her brother, James Ford Ginter and wife, Jeanne Jennings Ginter; her children Gretchen Hinman and husband, Charles Robert Hinman; Sterling Putnam Bassett; H. Michael Monro; Jan Bassett Moore; and Michael Holloman Bassett and wife, Elizabeth Ann Bassett. She is also survived by her grandchildren Robert Sterling Hinman and wife, Kristen Lee Hinman; Leta Karam Powell and husband Robert Alexander Powell; Zachary David Karam and wife Lindsey Brooke Karam; Craig James Bassett, Kyle Joseph Bassett, and Molly Monro. Jean is survived by her great grandchildren Colton Alexander Powell, Dakota David Powell, Jaxon Zachary Powell, Cloe Lindsey Powell, Molly Sue Powell, Kalee Hinman, and Alexander Sterling Hinman. Jean enjoyed a good game of bridge, cocktails at five pm, a walk with her Airedale "Baby", and the company of friends and family. Her talents and friendships will be greatly missed.
