Hannibal Samuel Bass, 72
LIBERTY - Mr. Hanibal Samuel "Sam" Bass, 72, of 6339 Beulah Church Road, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 1999, at the Loflin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Charles Adams and the Rev. Lynn Cash officiating. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro.
A former resident of Virginia, Mr. Bass was the son of the late Mary Katherine Mise Bass and Henry David Bass, Sr. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Bass was predeceased by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Bass.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Smith Bass of the home; his daughters, Lorraine Hoy of the home, Jean Pickens of Burlington and Mary Dunn of Siler City; his sisters, Nell Lineberry of Greensboro, Patricia Lashley of Climax, Catherine Barber of Mebane; his brothers, James Bass of Greensboro, Lawrence Bass of South Boston, Va., H.D. Bass, Jr. of Liberty, Frank Bass of Yanceyville; one grandchild, Sharon Coble of Trinity; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 14, 1999, at the funeral home and other times, at the home.
