Ronald O. Bassett Dies; Former Delco Manager
Ronald O. Bassett, 66, 311 Devonshire Dr., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., a former production control manager and materials director of Delco Radio Division here, died there Monday following a heart attack. He had gone to Florida to spend the winter.
Born in Anderson, June 22, 1898, he was the son of Charles and Carrie Bassett. He was a graduate of Anderson High School.
In August 1918, in Anderson, he was married Edna Malcomson, who survives.
He came to Kokomo to take employment with the Delco in 1938 and retired from there in 1958.
A member of the Episcopal Church in Anderson, he had attended the Presbyterian Church here.
He was a former member of the Kokomo Country Club and the Elk?s Lodge.
Surviving with the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Harold L. (Ellen) Peterson, El Paso, Tex.; Mrs. Robert M. (Mary Norma) Williams, Indianapolis; and Mrs. Maurice C. (Janet) Henricks, Kokomo; one son, Charles R. Bassett, Stevensville, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Corder, Anderson; Mrs. Leon (Ruth) Marsh, Orinda, Calif.; Mrs. George (Alma) Dyer, California; Miss Malita Bassett, Seattle, Wash., and Mr. Ward (Florence) Donnelly, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. One son, two sisters, and two brothers are deceased.
Funeral services are pending at Jacobs Funeral Home.
