Ethan D. Bassett
Ethan D. Bassett, 87, of Hazardville Road, died Sunday in Baystate Medical
Center. He was a retired electrical engineer for Electronic Colis, Inc. Born
in Hartford, Conn., he was a graduate of Groton, N.Y. High School and in 1935,
earned a master's degree at Worcester Polytechnical Institute. He lived here
for 47 years and was a member of First Church of Christ, where he served as a
deacon and an usher. He served for 20 years on the Longmeadow Planning Board
and was its chairman for many years. He also was a member of the Boa
Directors at Emerson Manor. He leaves his wife, the former Sarah Frisbie, two
daughters, Nancy Mack of Weston and Susan Ianni of West Rutland, Vt; a sister,
Prudence Hinkley of Newington, Conn., and four granddaughters. A memori
service will be Wednesday afternoon in First Church of Christ, and burial will
be at the convenience of the family in Rose Hill Cemetery. There are no
calling hours and Dickinson-Streeter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
