Guy D. Burch
NEW MILFORD - Guy D. Burch died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Sharon Hospital at the age of 84.
He was born Nov. 9, 1929, in Waterbury, son of the late Guy and Grace (Bessette) Burch. Mr. Burch lived in Bridgewater. He served with the Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953 then married Theresa Porter on Sept. 19, 1959. They moved to New Milford in 1969 where Mr. Burch worked for CL&P for 37 years, before retiring in 1992, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Housatonic Council No. 40.
Besides his wife, Theresa, of New Milford, he is survived by his son, Dennis Burch of Stamford; a daughter, Denise Conway of Taylors, S.C.; a brother, Alfred Burch of Southbury; a sister, Marguerite Morse of Roxbury; and two grandchildren, Heather and Jason.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Our Lady of the Lake Church, New Milford, at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Sharon Hospital, Senior Behavioral Health Unit, 27 Hospital Hill Road, Sharon 06069.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford.
