Patricia Werkelin Becomes Bride of David L. Bassett
A garden reception at the home of the bride?s mother, Mrs. Thelma L. Werkelin of Portsmojuth followed the recent marriage of Miss Patricia F. Werkelin, to David L. Bassett of Rye.
The Rev. Raymond Gay of the Advent Christian Church performed the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, Howard Werkelin of Kittery, the bride wore a formal gown of white slik taffeta featuring a scoop necklind and long tapered sleeves. Re-embroidered lace appliques and seed pearls adorned the basque bodice and semi-bouffant skirt which extended to a full chapel train. She wore in illusion veil of imported silk attached to a princess crown of seed pearls.
Miss Margo Schirmer was maid of honor wearing a street, length gown of nile green satin peau designed with a scoop neckline, pelnl-shaped skirt and heart shaped headpiece with circular veil.
Identically gowned were the bridesmaids, Miss Mary Poole and Miss Sandra McCurdy.
The bride?s mother choase a blue imported knit gown with matching accessories. Mrs. Alfred Bassett, mother of the bridegroom, chose a navy blue dress with pink accessories.
Thomas J. Cole was best man and Robert Keele of Greenland and C. Richard Williams were ushers.
Mrs. Bassett attended Portsmouth High School. Her husband graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1963.
After a wedding trip through the White Mountains the couple will reside in Portsmouth.
