Francis ?Frank? Peter Bassett

Francis (Frank) Peter Bassett, age 63, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. Born on October 9, 1961, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Walter Raymond Bassett and Elizabeth Rose Smyth Bassett. Frank lived a full life of love and dedication together with his wife of 23 years, Lori Allen Bassett.
Frank is survived by his son Joshua (Josh) Brunza (April Brunza and granddaughter Sadie Brunza); his sisters Carol Bassett Cloer (Allen Cloer) and Janet Tighe. He is also survived by his in-laws Huey and Ruth Allen, Barry Allen (Sheila McLamb Underwood) and Kellie McDowell Rhodes (Steve Lepkowski). In addition, he leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Dr. Danielle Tighe, David Nash-Pappas (Margaret Nash-Pappas), Ben Pappas, Tiffany Tighe Stump (Paige Stump), Dr. Olivia Tighe Bauer (Chandler Bauer), Shannon Tighe, and Caleb Rhodes. He will be remembered for the way he lived life, his kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his nephew Timothy Tighe and brothers-in-law Dennis McDowell and Joseph Rhodes.
Frank enjoyed life. He loved spending time with his friends and family travelling, attending concerts, golfing, playing poker, boating, putting together puzzles and playing games, spending time in "The Basshole" or on his deck listening to music. He lived by the quote from Aristotle, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." He lived this quote through his work and his personal life. His occupation in customer care would lead people to believe it was because of his work. However, he was great at his work because of the way he lived his life and treated people. He touched countless lives with his warmth, empathy, and compassion for others. He will be deeply missed by all who know him, but most of all by the love of his life and soulmate Lori.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. Afterward there will be a Celebration of Life honoring Frank at The Fall Line, 114 N Arendell Ave., Zebulon where we can toast him, laugh, and enjoy life the way he did.
