Emery W. Bessette
ALBANY -- Emery W. Bessette, 95, of Albany, died Monday, July 13, 1998 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital. Mr. Bessette was born in Valley Field, Quebec, Canada and came to the US in 1920. He first settled in Burlington, VT before moving to Albany in 1925. Mr. Bessette was a service manager with Orange Motor Co. in Albany for 46 years, retiring in 1972. He was a long-time member of the Albany Society of Engineers, a past Grand Knight of St. Ignatius at the former Jesuit Retreat House in Glenmont and a communicant of St. James Church. Husband of the late Alice Leboeuf Bessette; father of Dr. Russell W. Bessette of E. Amhurst, NY; uncle of Lise Leboeuf of Montreal, Canada; grandfather of Dr. Carolyn Bessette and Matthew Bessette. Funeral service Thursday 8:15 a.m. from the Norman E. Dascher Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., thence to St. James Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Entombment St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
