CHICOPEE - Mr. Dennis W. Bassett, 50, of 1206 Grattan St. in Aldenville, died Tuesday at his home. Born in Holyoke, son of Claire (Lacroix) Bassett & the late Wilson Bassett, he was educated in Holyoke schools. He was employed at one time with the American Pad & Paper Co. He also was a self-employed painter. He was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church in Holyoke. He leaves besides his mother 2 brothers, Bruce & Kenneth, both of Arizona; 2 sisters, Christine Johnson of Tennessee & Darlene Horsier of Chicopee; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral will take place Saturday from the James .P. Hobert & Sons Funeral Home with services at 10 a.m. at Hobert's. Burial will follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4-8 p.m. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or American Lung Assoc., 393 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01105.
