Albert Grady Bassett Jr.
Byron, GA- Albert Grady Bassett Jr., 78, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, April 4, 2014, at Jordan Chapel Cemetery, Giles Road, Byron with Rev. Tyler Plaxico officiating. Family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron.
Born in Macon to the late Albert Grady Bassett Sr. and Gladys Hardison Bassett, Mr. Bassett graduated from Byron High School and then served in the United States Air Force. He retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base as an FAA technician and was a member of Byron Baptist Church. He was a pilot, farmer and computer enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife, Scarlett Smith Bassett; their sons, Mark Alan Bassett (Joy) and Lee Ashley Bassett (Lynn), both of Byron, and Albert Artis Bassett (Melissa) of Cleveland; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Frances McDaniel of Byron; brother, Wally Bassett (Andrea) of Centerville; and sisters in law, Sylvia V.
