Bassett, 77, formerly of 310 Intervale Ave., who moved Dec. 22 to Dallas, Tex. to reside with a nephew, Howard Twichell, died Sunday in a Dallas Hospital where he was taken after he was stricken Jan. 3. His wife, Beatrice (Nevers) Bassett, died Oct. 17. He was born in Dana, and lived here most of his life. Before his retirement he had been a long time employe of A.K. Turner Co., truckers and long distance movers. He leaves a brother, Harry Bassett of Phillipston, five nephews and three niece. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Fiske Funeral Home with Rev. Harold D. Smock of Starrett Memorial Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
