      Mary Frances Bassett Freeman, 94, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at her home after a long battle with leukemia. Born July 23, 1913 in McLean County, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and Sarah Jane Wilson Bassett and married William Allen Freeman on June 16, 1931. Mrs. Freeman was employed by Glenmore Distilleries for 24 years where she was a Forelady and was a member of First Baptist Church, the Senior Adult Choir, and the Euzelian Sunday School Class. She enjoyed her grandchildren, sewing, knitting, and church activities. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 24, 1970, brothers, Ila D. Bassett and Robert M. Bassett, sisters, Ethel Anderson and Edna Tanner, and a great-grandson, Jeffrey Allen Woodard on May 22, 2006.
      She is survived by sons, William H. (and Ruby) Freeman of Newburgh and Robert A. Freeman of Indianpolis; daughter, Judith L. (and Randall) Hamilton of Owensboro and Maudie S. Branwer of Elizabethtown; grandsons, Kenneth Harper, Phillip A. Woodward, John Freeman, Thomas Brawner, and Michael Hamilton; granddaughters, Suzanne Kohlmeyer, Sheri Webb, and Melissa Hamilton; five great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters; a great-great-grandson; a sister, L. Jane (and Weldon) Hunt of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
      Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Glenn Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Strahan, Dr. David Nelson, and Reverend Clarence Nemitz officiating followed by burial in Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday and after 11 a.m. on Saturday.
      Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Baptist Church's Senior Adult Ministry or Hospice.
