He was born March 30, 1926, in Arpin, Wis., the son of Telesphore A. and Lois E. Ward Bessette. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of World War II and the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Edith Bessette; a son, Donald E. Bessette of Newalla, Okla.; and two daughters, Janet A. Bessette and Jenene Miller and husband Louis, all of Winslow. Cremation was by Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. A memorial service will be at a later date.
