Bass Platteville motorcyclist dies after hitting cow HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP, Wis. - A Platteville man died early Saturday after a motorcycle he was driving hit a cow. Brad A. Bass, 49, was taken to University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, where he was later pronounced dead. According to the Iowa County Sheriff's Department, Bass was northbound on Wisconsin 80 just south of Iowa County P at 12:01 a.m. with another motorcyclist when they encountered cattle in the roadway. The first motorcyclist was able to avoid striking the animals. Bass struck a Holstein heifer and was ejected from his motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet. Highland Fire and EMS, the sheriff's department, the Muscoda Police Department and Dodgeville EMS responded. The accident remains under investigation.
