  Notes	Staunton Star-Times, Illinois, Thursday, February 16, 1956 Mrs. Dollie Bassett Mrs. Dollie Bassett, widow of the late Benjamin Bassett, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gene Seeger, Saturday morning at 8:40 o?clock. She had been in ill health for a number of years. Mrs. Bassett was born April 21, 1885, in Bond county, attaining the age of 70 years, 9 months and 20 days. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. McClelland Long. On May 4, 1907, she was married to Benjamin Bassett and they resided on a farm southeast of New Douglas where Mr. Bassett passed away June 4, 1955. After his death she made her home with her daughter. She is survived by two sons, Iva Bassett of Greenville and Ivan Bassett of New Douglas; six daughters, Mrs. Estelle Fritsche of St. Louis, Mrs. Edith Hubbell of Greenville, Mrs. Dorene Hoffstetter of Staunton, Mrs. Delore Seeger and Mrs. Martha Jean Graff of New Douglas; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Brown of Washington, D.C.; also 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One daughter died in infancy. Mrs. Bassett was a member of the New Douglas Baptist church and taught adult Sunday school class for a number of years. The funeral was held Monday at the Baptist church, Rev. Bob Davis officiating. Interment was in the New Douglas cemetery.
