Donald H. Bassett, Sr.
ATHOL ? Donald Hugh Bassett, Sr., 52, of 36 Smith St., died early Saturday morning at Memorial Hospital. Born in Wilmington, Vt., he made his home with his mother, Mrs. Dora Knapp. Besides his mother, he leaves a son, Donald Jr., of Main St.; two daughters, Mrs. Arlene Wise of Dover, Del. And Mrs. Edna Castine of Keene, N.H.; two brothers, James M. Bassett of Springfield and Harry Smith of Keene, N.H. and sister, Mrs. Dora Cormier of Baldwinville. Bassett, who had lived most of his life in Athol, had been in poor health for some time. The funeral will be held at the Higgins funeral home Monday afternoon at 2, with burial in Jones Cemetery, Orange. Calling hours are at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.
