The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a. m. at White Oak Freewill Baptist Church by the Reverend Bobby Carden. Burial will be in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.He is survived by his wife, Miriam Bass; four daughters, Barbara Bryan and Patricia McKnight, both of Bladenboro, Freda McLean of Florida, and Sue Coward of Welcome; two sons, Joseph Bass of Darlington, South Carolina, and Albert Dewayne Bass of Chadbourn; one sister, Evelyn Sykes of Clarkton; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 till 9 p.m. at White Oak Freewill Baptist Church. Lewis-Bowen Funeral Home in Bladenboro is handling the arrangements.
