Funeral Services Held for Forestport Man
Forestport, October 27 - Funeral services for Stewart Bassett, 28, who was found dead at a camp near here Saturday, were held today with burial at Alder Creek cemetery. A coroner’s verdict gave suffocation as the cause of death.
Bassett was last seen alive Thursday at 5 p.m., when he went to his father’s camp on a lake near the village. The victim had attended Forestport schools. He never married.
Besides his parents, Frank and May Rockwell Bassett, he is survived by five brothers and three sisters: Elmer, Clarence, Warren and George Bassett of Forestport, Wade of Fulton, Miss Lena Bassett and Mrs. George Rogers of Utica, and Miss Nina Bassett of Newark, New Jersey.
