  Notes	James Judson "Jud" Bassett Star-Telegram, 5 Sep 2004 James Judson "Jud" Bassett, 75, a longtime resident of Grand Prairie, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, in Bedford. Graveside services: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Jud Bassett was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Wink. Mr. Bassett served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. After returning home in 1954, he worked as an independent insurance adjuster for many years. He met and married Mary Stiborek in Dallas. They were married 36 years until her death Jan. 30, 1998. Survivors: Son, Jay Bassett; daughter, Marnell Wetherby; son-in-law, James Wetherby; sister, Janell Weems; grandchildren, Nathan Wetherby and Cart Wetherby; nephews, Jim, Ray and Andrew Weems.
