(Boyle) Diemand ,77, of Ryan Rd., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Northampton on Jan. 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late High Sherriff John F. Boyle and Eleanor (Bassett) Boyle. She graduated from Northampton High School in 1958. She attended the Cooley Dickinson Hospital X-Ray Technician Program and graduated in 1960. She worked as an X-Ray Technician at the Western Mass Hospital in Westfield for 33 years, retiring in 2002 as the Directory of Radiology. Kathleen was also a CPR instructor for the America Heart Association and the American Red Cross for many years. She enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many friends. Her hobbies included camping at the DAR, swimming at the YMCA, Monday night pitch league and trips to the casino. She is survived by her husband Thomas E. Diemand, her daughters Theresa M. Perez and her husband Mark of Southampton, Pamela A. Diemand and her lifelong friend Carl Lulek of Leeds, Kelly A. Boyle and her husband David of Brimfield and her son Thomas J. Diemand and his wife Jacqueline of Holyoke. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren Jennifer Perez-Ramsden, Kate Perez, Amanda and Jonathan Boyle; great grandchildren Natalee, Khloe and Emma. She is survived by her sister Joan F. Bowler of Northampton and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Carol A. Perry. The family would like to thank the Cooley Dickinson VNA and Hospice for their kind and loving care. Kathleen's Funeral will be Tuesday morning 11 a.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Calling Hours are Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made in Kathleen's memory to the Sherriff John Boyle Scholarship c/o Smith Vocational High School, 80 Locust St., Northampton, MA 01060.
