Dorothy F. (Bassett) Bentley
BENTLEY, DOROTHY F. (BASSETT), 83, of Diamond Hill Road died Tuesday, January
27, 2009 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Harry O.
Bentley. Mr. and Mrs. Bentley were married for 62 years.
Born in South Attleboro, MA, a daughter of the late John E. and Ruth A. (Hall)
Bassett, she had lived Connecticut since 1951.
Mrs. Bentley was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Cumberland. She was
also a member of the Pawtucket Women’s Club and the Community-Ites.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Ruth L. Bentl
Pasadena, CA and Dale F. Bentley of Cumberland; three sons, Harry J. Bentley
of Juno Beach, FL, William J. Bentley of North Attleboro, MA and Dav
Bentley of Cumberland; one sister, Ruth Carr of San Diego, CA; six
grandchildren, William J. Bentley, Jr., Lauren, Kevin J., Katelyn V., Jason D.
and Ethan J. Bentley; two great grandchildren, Tomas B. and Korrina Bentley;
and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John E.
Bassett, Jr. and the grandmother of the late Brian J. Bentley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service Saturday,
January 31 at 11:30 A.M. in Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 120 Nate Whipple
Highway, Cumberland. Burial will be private.
