FITTON, DAVID C. 89 of Miller Avenue, Rumford died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Evergreen House Health Center. He was the husband of the late Harriett Lee (Bassett) Fitton. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Harry and Elsie (Wood) Fitton. Mr. Fitton was the New England Sales Manager for the Union Oil Company of California for 30 years. He previously worked for the Colonial Processing Company and American Analine Products. After retirement, he was a sales consultant for the Fish Chemical Company. He attended Rhode Island School of Design. He was a life time member of the Masons, Lodge #24, a past President of the East Providence Land Trust and was an avid boater and golfer. Mr. Fitton was a Navy veteran of World War II. He leaves one daughter, Barbara F. Husband of Rumford, one sister, Ruth Simmons of Cumberland, one nephew and one niece. His funeral and visitation will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 PM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a service to follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will be private.
