- Excerpt from Autobiography of Isaac Newton Bassett
My Aunt Sarah was married to Mathew Thomson and settled on a farm just west of my father's adjoining it and extending to Kinniconick west. The Thompson family was an old Virginia family. There were, besides Matthew, four brothers, John, William, Alexander and Milton, all who lived not far from my father's in Kentucky. My Aunt Sarah had a very large family.
Mary, the 5th daughter of Aunt Sarah Thompson married a man by the name of Parker, an old family in KY, but this one was quite poor and not possessed of much energy. He died some years after and Mary, also died about 1870 leaving several children. I don't know what has become of them but saw one daughter at Foster Moore's in 1880.
