William F. Bassett
The funeral for WILLIAM F. BASSETT, 89, of Dryden Boulevard, who died Wednesday at Rhode Island Hospital after being hit by a car on Warwick Avenue, will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Peter Church, Fair Street.
He was the husband of the late Elizabeth M. (Orcutt) Bassett. Born in Providence, a son of the late William F. and Amelia (Roberts) Bassett, he lived in Warwick for 35 years.
Mr. Bassett was a lace weaver and shift foreman at Artistic Lace Co. for 10 years, retiring in 1975. He had worked as a file cutter at Nicholson File Co., Providence, for 20 years, and had worked at Atlantic Mills, Providence, for 15 years.
He leaves seven sons, William F.M. Bassett of Middleboro, Mass., Robert E. Bassett of East Providence, Alfred L. and John Bassett, both of Cranston, George Bassett of Providence, Joseph Bassett of Leominster, Mass., and Kenneth Bassett of Warwick; a sister, Emma Greene of Providence; a companion, Marion Senna of Warwick; and 12 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren. He was the brother of the late Robert, Henry and John Bassett, and Esther Loftus.
Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
