Noella L. Bessette (Picture included)
BESSETTE, NOELLA L.,88 of Lincoln, passed away peacefully at her home of 51 years on Monday August 7, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of Elphege and Bella (Quintin) Leduc. Noella was the beloved wife of the late William R. Bessette, Sr.
Noella was a graduate of St. Clare High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital, Providence and also with private practice physicians, prior to her most fulfilling role of loving mother and matriarch. She and her husband and children operated Bessette Hardware Company in Lincoln.
Noella is survived by her children: William (Lisa) of Sandwich, MA, Joel (Deborah) and Vincent (Lee) of Lincoln, James (Kathleen) of Cumberland, Maryanne, Joan (Charles) Morin, Michelle (Paul) Carr, and Monique (Eric) Clauson all of Lincoln, and daughter-in-law Shannon Bessette of Cumberland; Grandchildren: Katherine, Andrew, Christopher, Kyle, Ryan, Jacques, Katelyn, Joel, Melanie, Brad, Margaux, Brett, Charles, Zachary, Nicolas, Nathan, Alyssa, Lauren, Cassandra, Megan, Eric, Bryan, and Corey; Great-Grandchildren: Charles, Jack, Benson, and Caleb; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Charles N. and Marc Q. Bessette and grandmother of the late Gabriel Charles Morin. She was the sister of the late Jacques (Rita) Leduc and Marie (Leo Paul) Nicole.
Our special thank you to all who provided loving care to our beloved Mother recently, including her caregiver, Mary McBorrough, and the nurses from Senior Helpers, Life Care at Home, and Kindred Hospice.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 12, at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Jude Church, Front Street Lincoln. Burial will follow in the Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Parish, 301 Front Street Lincoln, RI 02865 or the Rhode Island Community Food Bank would be appreciated.
